After hearing (and reading) the rave reviews, I waddled up to the famous Levain Bakery last weekend to try out their world renown cookies.  I must admit that at $4.00 a pop I was expecting pure gold.  Sadly, I was a bit dissapointed.  The cookies were great - don’t get me wrong! They just weren’t exactly what I was hoping they would be…
Too Sweet + Too Many Nuts + Too Crunchy on the Outside + Too Gooey on the Inside = 3 out of 5 Stars
Let’s face it though - who cares about my opinion?!

I went there yesterday! I got a Chocolate Chip Walnut cookie (if you can call it a cookie..) and it was delish. I went off to have a coffee and read afterwards and was really tempted to go back later and get a peanut butter one, but wisely decided against it since I was full from lunch and I think the richness/gooeyness of the first cookie made me feel a bit ill. I think I’d give it 3.5 or maybe even 4 out of 5 stars because it was really huge, had a good amount of chocolate chips in it, was super tasty, and I totally appreciated the gooeyness. It was less a cookie than just a lump of half-baked cookie dough. Mmmmm. But on the other hand I’m pretty sure it made me feel sick, and that may not be such a good thing. And like you mentioned, the price tag is a bit painful for something that’s just adding to the jiggle of my thighs.
