Finally, paying respects to Patisserie Valerie
I have been a fan of Patisserie Valerie for years - ever since I first visited London and stepped foot in Knightsbridge ten years ago. My mother and I used to frequent the one along Brompton Road and would get a chocolate eclair, which became a sort of tradition. On a few occasions we tried out the one right next to/opposite Harrods on Hans Rd, but the Brompton one was always our go-to Pat Val. On a recent trip I walked past both only to find that the names of those two locations had changed, despite the exterior and interior appearing the same. I don’t remember what the name of the new establishment was, but I didn’t risk getting an eclair from either in case the chefs or recipes had also changed. Luckily for me, I was staying with a friend who lived right next door to another Valerie on Motcomb St. I couldn’t help but get an eclair for old time’s sake.

And the delicious creamy goodness found inside:

I highly recommend stopping by the patisserie if you can - there are many London locations. They make excellent scrambled eggs served with wholemeal toast for breakfast, and from what I remember many, many years ago, delicious bangers & mash!
